Yorkville Approved Supervisor
The Authentic Life is pleased to be recognized as an approved supervision site for psychotherapy students enrolled in the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology program at Yorkville University.
We welcome psychotherapy interns for a number of reasons :
We believe in supporting new therapists entering our profession by offering them clinical experience, close supervision and mentorship, and an inside look into the daily operations of a psychotherapy practice.
They learn from us, and we learn from them. Our interns are receiving the most up-to-date training and have access to leading edge research which enhances our competence and grows everyone’s skill set.
Because our interns are still in training, they are available at reduced rates, which means we can offer affordable mental health services to everyone. Psychotherapy interns are available at reduced and sliding scale rates.
Collaboration and relationship-building are two our most important values. Working together as a close-knit group that values each other’s talents, diversity and continuous learning is a source of professional and personal growth and satisfaction for everyone on our team.

Anxiety

Family Matters
The stressors placed on today's families are unprecedented. With many young adults living at home, financial pressures from job insecurity or loss of income due to the pandemic, and caring for aging parents, families are having to take on a range of responsibilities that may never have been considered before.
The Authentic Life is a psychotherapy clinic specializing in individual, family and relationship (e.g, couple, marriage) therapy. We also offer supervision and consultation services to mental health professionals.
We welcome all people into our practice. We are 2SLGBTQI+ allied and support all relationship configurations.
We have locations in Ottawa and Orleans. Our Ottawa clinic is located in the Nepean Medical Centre, at 1 Centrepointe Drive with easy access from Highway 417. Paid parking is available in a secure, on-site lot. On-street parking at city meters is available on Gemini Way. Free on-street parking is available on side streets off of Centrepointe Drive.
Our Orleans Clinic is located in the Centrum Plaza at 210 Centrum Boulevard. The plaza is situated directly across from Place D’Orleans, just off Highway 174. Centrum Plaza offers free parking.
