Meet Your Supervisor
Susan Robbins
Specializes in:
Psychodynamic Psychotherapy
Self-in Relationship Psychotherapy
PACT (Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy)
Systemic Family Therapy
I specialize in couples therapy and marriage counselling, helping partners move beyond repetitive arguments, heal from infidelity, and deepen intimacy and connection. I work with couples at every stage—from premarital counselling to long-term partnerships, new parents to empty nesters, and retirees navigating their golden years together.
I also provide family therapy for those seeking healthier communication patterns, whether you’re supporting teens and young adults, healing family rifts, blending families, or caring for aging parents.
For individuals, I offer relationship therapy focused on breaking unhealthy patterns, recovering from relationship loss, and building the self-awareness needed for healthier future connections. This work fosters emotional intelligence and relational confidence.
Research consistently shows that close relationships are the strongest predictor of happiness and longevity. Healthy, secure relationships are within reach, and meaningful change often begins with a single step.

The Value of Long-Term Supervision
-
Deep Trust and Psychological Safety
Meaningful supervision requires vulnerability. Over time, consistent group membership creates a safe container where you can bring your most challenging cases, clinical uncertainties, and professional struggles without fear of judgment.
-
Richer, More Meaningful Case Discussions
As your supervisor and peers come to know your therapeutic style, strengths, and areas for growth, feedback becomes increasingly nuanced and tailored to your development. Long-term relationships enable deeper exploration of clinical patterns and themes in your work.
-
Witnessing Your Own Growth
A year-long commitment allows you to track your progress over time. You’ll see how cases that once felt overwhelming become manageable, how your clinical reasoning deepens, and how your confidence as a therapist evolves.
-
Professional Community and Support Network
Your supervision group becomes more than just a requirement—it becomes a professional home. These relationships often extend beyond the formal supervision year, providing ongoing collegial support throughout your career.

A Reflective Space to Strengthen Your Voice
Therapy is deeply relational work, and effective practice depends not just on technique, but on who you are in the room. Our supervision process supports you in becoming more attuned to your internal responses—your emotional reactions, assumptions, and vulnerabilities—so you can bring more awareness and authenticity into your clinical presence.
We create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can reflect on your experiences, process uncertainty, and explore your unique approach to the work. Over time, this reflective practice helps you develop a clearer sense of your clinical identity and a stronger, more grounded therapeutic voice. It’s a space where growth happens not just professionally, but personally—allowing you to work with greater confidence, self-awareness, and resilience.
Ethical Foundations, Real-World Application
Supervision that helps you navigate complex cases with clarity and confidence.
In clinical work, ethical questions often arise in nuanced, emotionally charged situations where there isn’t always a clear right answer. That’s why our supervision doesn’t stop at reviewing codes of conduct—it goes deeper into the day-to-day realities of therapeutic decision-making. Together, we explore how to uphold professional integrity while also honoring the humanity of your clients. Whether you're facing challenges around confidentiality, dual relationships, scope of practice, or informed consent, our supervisors help you think critically and act responsibly. Through this process, you'll develop a strong ethical foundation and the confidence to handle complex cases with both thoughtfulness and assurance.
